Dominant 1st half powers Bemidji over Duluth East

Feb. 24—DULUTH — The Bemidji High School boys basketball team wasn't playing around on Saturday afternoon in Duluth.

The Lumberjacks stormed out to a 35-10 first-half lead, keying an easy 59-41 win over the Greyhounds.

BHS (11-13) left no doubt in the first 18 minutes, outscoring Duluth East (8-16) by a 25-point margin. The Greyhounds held a seven-point advantage in the second half, but that wasn't nearly enough to reverse the first-half trend.

Jaxon Boschee led the Jacks with 18 points, followed by Austin Riewer with 10. Eight Bemidji players scored in all.

Duluth East was paced by Ty Nyberg's 17 points.
