Dog returned to Arizona animal shelter for being 'too good'
When a shelter has a dog returned to it after just 48 hours, it assumes that a traumatic experience involving the pet and the family took place during those two days. But staffers at the Arizona Animal Welfare League & SPCA in Phoenix were stunned when a 1-year-old dog named Binx was brought back to them on Monday for being “too good” for his new owners.
In a Facebook post written in the first person, it was revealed that Binx was not the “challenge” that the family was looking for. “I was adopted and returned within 48 hours, with notes saying I’m potty trained, good with kids, fun to play with, and good with dogs in the home!” the post read.
The post included a picture of Binx appearing deflated following his return to the shelter. Furious Facebook users took to the post to vent their anger over Binx’s return. “It boggles my mind how people take pet adoption so flippantly! A pet is a living breathing thing, not a disposable item,” one user wrote.
By Wednesday, though, sweet Binx had found a new forever home. “Everyone! It happened! I have a family!!” an updated first-person post read on Facebook. Even better, Binx’s new parents live next to a mountain preserve, where the pup can go hiking to his heart’s content.
