Most people get paid every other week, but Emad Aljaber recently won the opportunity for an additional payday.
The 42-year-old Jacksonville man claimed a top prize in the $1,000 A Week For Life scratch-off game, the Florida Lottery announced Wednesday. But he opted not to wait every week and instead chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $930,000.
Scratch-off winner: It's $500 a Week for Life, well sort of, for Jacksonville 23-year-old
Aljaber paid $2 for the ticket at the 8022 Herlong Road Quickway in Jacksonville.
This $1,000 A Week for Life scratch-off game launched last July and features eight top prizes. Aljaber's payday means four more remain, according to the Lottery's website.
