Normal (IL) Community senior defensive end recruit Dalton Tevis (6-foot-3, 220 pounds) and the Class 7A state ranked Ironmen (5-0) are having a great season so far.Tevis checks in and recaps his latest recruiting news and more in this update.
"We've been on a roll so far this season ," Tevis said. "We are playing really well on both sides of the football. I've been playing mainly defensive end and I have 7 sacks so far."
Tevis recapped his latest recruiting news.
"I'm still in touch with several coaches. Drake has been showing more interest in me this season and we've been talking more. Butler also offered me a roster spot and I've also started talking to the coaches from Fordham. Fordham wants me to come out and visit them sometime soon. I also stay in touch with schools like Winona State and with all of the other schools who have offered me."
Tevis is not planning to make any college decision until after the season.
"I'm still just going to play out the season and see what happens. I'm going to wait and then look harder at all of my options."
Tevis is also still considering taking a preferred walk on spot at in town Illinois State.
"It's (Illinois State preferred walk on offer) tempting. Illinois State came out to watch one of our games and they still stay in touch."
Tevis also filled us in on what's the key for the Ironmen this season.
"I think just having more experience has been a big factor this year. Our defensive line was all juniors last year and so was our offensive line. Guys like Marcellus (Johnson) was around 200 pounds last year and now he's so much bigger and stronger. Our offense has also been just making plays and we have a lot of kids who make our offense dangerous to stop."
Dalton Tevis has scholarship offers from Winona State, McKendree, Missouri Baptist, Trinity University, Missouri S&T and Culver-Stockton.
