DL L.J. Collier gets minimum salary with veteran benefit
The Arizona Cardinals announced they agreed to terms with former Seattle Seahawks defensive lineman L.J. Collier, a first-round pick in 2019.
Collier never lived up to expectations as a pass rusher, as he has only three career sacks.
The Cardinals are getting him on a cheap deal.
According to Aaron Wilson, the Cardinals signed him to a one-year contract that qualifies for the veteran benefit.
He will make the league minimum of $1.08 million.
He has total bonuses of $157,500, which includes signing and roster bonuses.
His total cap hit will be for less than the amount he will get paid, qualifying for the veteran benefit.
It is a low-risk deal with a potentially high reward.
After four disappointing seasons with the Seahawks, he has a chance to turn his career around and get a good contract in 2024.
