District 22-2A Boys Basketball: Alto moves into tie for third place in district sthandings

Jan. 22—ALTO — Alto went 2-0 on the hardwood last week to move into a tie for third place, along with Mount Enterprise, in the District 22-2A standings.

The Yellowjackets (16-8, 3-3) churned out a 56-55 road win over Cushing Wednesday and completed the week by thumping Price-Carlise, 72-56, Friday at DeVonte Mumphrey Memorial Court at Yellowjacket Gymnasium.

Keegan Davis scored 16 points, collected six assists and came down with three rebounds in Alto's exciting win over Cushing. Davis drained 3-of-4 shots from behind the arc.

Other players of impact for Alto included Chris Johnson (10 points, 5 rebounds), Zack Battle (7 points, 8 rebounds) and Jamarion Rollins (6 points, 7 rebounds).

Rollins went off for 17 points in the Carlisle (2-4 in district) game and EJ Lacy added 12.

At 6:30 p.m. Tuesday Alto will travel to New Summerfield.
