Leading up to the 2022 NFL Draft, there were endless opinions on what the career for Kayvon Thibodeaux would look like at the next level, and where he might come off of the board on draft night. So projected that he would be among the first players taken once the clock started ticking, which others foresaw him potentially dropping down the board as teams passed on him due to concerns about his off-field interests and a lack of love for the sport.

In the end, the believers in Thibodeaux’s talent won out, with the New York Giants selecting him with the No. 5 overall pick, pairing him with Alabama offensive tackle Evan Neal, who was selected two picks later at No. 7 overall.

So what is the national media saying now after Thibodeaux avoided a draft-day slide? Let’s take a look.
