Diego Costa starts his own pre-season training - on the beach
Chelsea outcast Diego Costa is doing his own preparations for the new season despite the fact his club have decided he is no longer a part of their plans.
While Antonio Conte's men continue their pre-season tour in Singapore, Costa has been put through his paces on the beach during his (extended) summer break.
Costa uploaded a video to Instagram being filmed doing volleying exercises with one helper while another provided resistance by pulling back on a harness connected to the player.
This isn't the first post Costa has made to his social media channels since Conte decided to axe the Spain international: last week he uploaded a video at a party where he was wearing an Atletico Madrid shirt.
Costa was told via text message at the end of last season that he was no longer needed at Stamford Bridge, and wasn't invited back for pre-season training by Conte.
He is keen on a move back to former club Atletico, but the Spanish side are under a transfer ban and cannot register any new players until January.
Costa therefore wants to find a solution whereby he can join in the winter transfer window but spend the first half of the season elsewhere in order to keep his fitness up and maintain a challenge for a place in Spain's World Cup squad for next year.
