How did Jalen Ramsey perform against Davante Adams on Sunday?

When it comes to cornerback-receiver matchups, there are none better than Jalen Ramsey versus Davante Adams. Ramsey is the best corner in football right now, and Adams is as good as any wideout when it comes to route running, hands and overall playmaking ability.

The two squared off at Lambeau Field on Sunday afternoon, the second time they’ve met in the last 10 months. Ramsey has held his own against Adams but in the Rams’ 36-28 loss to the Packers in Week 12, it’s hard to say he won that battle.

According to Next Gen Stats, Adams caught five passes on five targets when Ramsey was in coverage, gaining 41 yards. The coverage was tight as Adams had just 1.6 yards of separation on his five targets, but Aaron Rodgers displayed pinpoint accuracy when throwing Adams’ way.

And for as much as fans complain about Ramsey not following No. 1 receivers, he was on Adams 56% of the time Sunday.

Although Ramsey didn’t force any incompletions in coverage against Adams, he still gave up just five receptions on 25 snaps aligned across from the Packers’ top receiver. That’s an impressive rate, showing that he forced Rodgers to go elsewhere with the ball.

Adams finished with eight catches for 104 yards with a long of 43 yards, which came with Dont’e Deayon in coverage.
