Diamond Hogs will be one of college baseball’s most-watched teams in 2024

Not to say that the Arkansas baseball team has a lot of fan pressure on it this year, but, Razorbacks fans have clamoring for the diamond since, basically, Christmas.

Arkansas’ difficulties in both football and basketball this season have left those who call the Hogs with just baseball and softball in the spring to lift spirits (no offense, track-and-field and others). The first bout of good news is the Diamond Hogs are a preseason top-5 team. The other is that fans across the state will get to watch all 36 home games this year with nine of those games being broadcast nationally.

As much as that distinction matters anymore.

Arkansas will play three regular-season games on ESPN2 and another six on SEC Network in 2024. All of them, but one, are homes games from Baum-Walker Stadium, too, with the only exception coming March 21 against Auburn.

Two of Arkansas’ three games against LSU, Texas Tech and Florida make up six of the nine national games. All three of those opponents are expected to be NCAA Tournament teams if not expected hosts.

Arkansas’ season starts in just over two weeks with a four-game set against visiting James Madison. First pitch is Friday, February 16 at 3 p.m. from south Fayetteville.
