Taking the band to Jack's Place, let's dive into some stats to hopefully help us with our Yahoo DFS roster construction.
The course is a longtime host, Muirfield Village Golf Club. It's a par 72 that stretches out to 7,533 yards. It keeps stretching longer and longer.
For our stat search, we will look at recent driving performance and then check in on putting upside by narrowing in on bentgrass putting stats over the last few seasons.
Drive for Dough
Muirfield Village Golf Club is often described as a second-shot course but the driver still plays a huge role, based on historical leaderboards.
When we look at top-12 finishers at the last five Memorial Tournaments, we see they've average +4 SG:Off-the-Tee in their 12 lead-in rounds. That is almost 400% higher than the field average OTT number and seems to be where the contenders really separate themselves.
Here are the top performers in recent strokes gained off-the-tee (last 12 lead-in rounds):
Patrick Rodgers ($20): He finished in style last week at Colonial and now he brings that momentum to an event where he's landed top 20s in two of his last three tries. Rodgers has gained 10 strokes off-the-tee in his last three starts and is doing everything else well, except for around-the-green play. He's a high-upside value target given his recent ball-striking combined with solid course history.

Muirfield Village Golf Club redid the greens ahead of last year's edition, making sure the poa annua was terminated.
Golfers will now see extremely speedy, bentgrass surfaces. They are typically some of the fastest greens they see all year.
Putting is not always the most predictive measure but when it comes to finding upside, it can often pluck out some surprise longshots.
Here are the top performers in strokes gained putting on bentgrass greens, over the last two years:
Charles Howell III
Beau Hossler ($20): The Texas Longhorn alum has always been one of the best putters out on TOUR, right from the start of his career. However, he's coming off a week at Colonial where he gained 6.5 strokes tee-to-green. Is now the time to ride the hot hand or was last week a one-off performance? It's tough to say but the last time he gained more than 6 strokes tee-to-green was at the 2021 Palmetto and he followed that up with a top 10 at the Travelers (+4.2 SG:Tee-to-Green).
Hopefully, these stats will give you some names to dive into when it comes to researching your final selections this week over at Yahoo!
