The Devils announced they've re-signed goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood to a three-year, $8.4 million deal on Wednesday.
Blackwood will make an average of $2.8 million per season on his new deal.
The 6-4, 225 pound goalie is entering his third season in the NHL after spending his first two in New Jersey. He was taken by the Devils with the 42nd overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft.
Last season, Blackwood played in 47 games, where he faced off against 1452 shots and saved 1328 of them, allowing 124 goals on the season for a total save percentage of .915.
He posted a 22-14-8 record and 2.72 goals-against average, finishing sixth in Calder Trophy voting and second in NHL All-Rookie Team voting at goaltender.
