Game notes: Sunday's game is scheduled to be the last of the 2021 season for these two teams. The White Sox will play the Houston Astros in the postseason while the Tigers head home. Detroit will try to end another playoff-less season on a high note behind Alexander, a lefty who's come out of the bullpen to make several starts. Though the Tigers have not made the postseason since 2014, this was one of their most competitive seasons in recent memory. Under first-year manager AJ Hinch, the Tigers won at least 40% of their games for the first time in five seasons. Just imagine if they sign a shortstop or starting pitcher, as the team brass has indicated they may.

Tigers lineup:

1. Akil Baddoo CF

2. Isaac Paredes 3B

3. Harold Castro 2B

4. Eric Haase 1B

5. Niko Goodrum DH

6. Daz Cameron RF

7. Willi Castro LF

8. Dustin Garneau C
