DYNAMIC DUO: Tigers' Jose Cisnero isn't an All-Star, but he helped Gregory Soto get to Denver

Game notes: In what is likely to be Mize's final start of the first half, the rookie right-hander hopes to improve from Friday's effort vs. the Chicago White Sox. Mize gave up two runs in three innings before being pulled as a workload-management measure. He's had a strong beginning to the season for the most part though, pitching his best on the road with a 3.18 ERA and .217 opponents' batting average in nine starts (56 2/3 innings) away from Comerica Park. Gibson is an All-Star and early Cy Young candidate with the break approaching. Not only does he lead the American League in ERA, he seems to be getting better; the former Minnesota Twins starter has a sterling 1.80 ERA and .213 opponents' batting average over his past five starts (30 innings).

1B Jonathan Schoop
