The Pfizer vaccine will be distributed by Henry Ford Health employees, and appointments can only be made for people older than 16. Appointments will also be scheduled for the second dose three weeks later.

"We are delighted to partner with the Detroit Pistons for this very special Family Vaccination Day,” Chief Public Health Officer Denise Fair said in a statement. “We are giving Detroiters as many options as possible to take advantage of this life-saving vaccine because it remains the best tool we have for slowing the spread of COVID-19.”

The event will also include free food, giveaways and appearances by former Detroit Pistons Rick Mahorn (2:30-4:30 p.m.) and Earl Cureton (10 a.m.-1:30 p.m.).
