Detroit Pistons hire Andrew Jones III from Philadelphia 76ers as assistant coach
Detroit Pistons head coach Dwane Casey was given the go-ahead from ownership to expand and reshape his coaching staff as he sees fit this offseason, and Casey has taken advantage of the opportunity.
He hired former Michigan men's basketball coach John Beilein as senior advisor of player development, and added former Boston Celtics assistant Jerome Allen, former Indiana Pacers assistant Bill Bayno and former Sacramento Kings assistant Rex Kalamian as assistants not long after.

Now, another assistant coach has joined the ranks. Former Philadelphia 76ers assistant Andrew Jones III has been hired and will focus on player development, a league source confirmed to the Free Press. Jones was at his previous stop for two years and with the Oklahoma City Thunder from 2014-19 as a player development coach, video analyst and assistant with their G League affiliate.
Jones played at Penn State from 2006-11. He was a four-year starter and left as the school's 12th-leading rebounder, with 681. He returned to Penn State as a graduate assistant in 2013.
