Detroit Pistons center Zaza Pachulia was fined $25,000 for “confronting and verbally abusing a game official” during his team’s 112-107 overtime win against the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, the league announced Monday afternoon.

Pachulia attempted to go up for a layup late in the third quarter, but was blocked and knocked to the ground. Clearly thinking he had been fouled, Pachulia started yelling at the officials from the floor.

While there wasn’t a good view on the broadcast, he was quickly assessed a pair of technical fouls. According to NBC Sports’ Dan Feldman, he bumped the official, too, which led to his ejection.

"A veteran gets pushed in the back twice with no call and it is tough, but it is also tough to officiate in this league with all those bodies flying around and the emotion and passion," Pistons coach Dwane Casey said, via the Associated Press.

The 35-year-old played just 10 minutes on Sunday, and left the game scoreless with four rebounds. The win, thanks largely to a 27-point night from Blake Griffin, marked Detroit’s fifth in six games.

Pachulia has averaged 4.2 points and 4.4 rebounds this season, his 16th in the league.
