Detroit Lions' Kenny Golladay in danger of missing Green Bay Packers game

Kenny Golladay is in danger of missing his second straight game because of a strained hamstring.

Detroit Lions coach Matt Patricia said Golladay will not practice Thursday because of the injury he suffered in practice last week.

Golladay has missed four straight practices, plus last week's game against the Chicago Bears. The Lions (0-1) visit Lambeau Field for a key NFC North game against the Green Bay Packers (1-0) on Sunday.

"We’ve seen progress, so we’ll just take it day by day from that standpoint, see how it goes," Patricia said. "But just like I said (before), we don’t want to push something into a bad spot, either."

Golladay suffered the injury in practice last Wednesday. As a rookie, he missed five games with strained hamstring.

Rookie Quintez Cephus is in line for his second straight start if Golladay cannot play. Cephus was the Lions' most targeted receiver in his debut last week, though he caught only three of the 10 balls thrown his way for 43 yards.

"He's done a nice job," Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford said. "Obviously, I missed him on a couple. There were a couple I’m sure he wishes he had back. That’s the way it goes when you have a young guy in there and you’re trying to get to know him and learn him, and he’s trying to learn the game right out of preseason and any of that stuff."

Along with Gollday, Patricia said cornerback Desmond Trufant (hamstring), tight end Hunter Bryant (hamstring) and right tackle Halapoulivaati Vaitai (foot) will not practice Thursday, and defensive lineman Nick Williams will be limited at best by a shoulder injury.

Bryant will miss his second straight game Sunday, and Tyrell Crosby is in line to replace Vaitai for the second week in a row.

If Trufant can't play, rookie Jeff Okudah may start in his Lions debut.
