ATLANTA — D'Andre Swift had a career-best 136 yards rushing in Tim Boyle's first start of the season.

Boyle will make his second start Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons with Jared Goff on the reserve/COVID-19 list and he will not have Swift by his side.

The Detroit Lions made Swift and rookie running back Jermar Jefferson inactive for today's game against the Atlanta Falcons, leaving Jamaal Williams and Craig Reynolds to head that position's rotation.

Williams has not played since Dec. 5 because of COVID-19. Reynolds, who signed off the practice squad this week, ran for 112 yards on 26 carries in his first career start last Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.

Godwin Igwebuike is active as the Lions' No. 3 running back, despite losing a fumble each of the past two games.

Swift returned to practice this week for the first time since injuring his shoulder in a Thanksgiving loss to the Chicago Bears, but he practiced sparingly Friday.

He leads the Lions (2-11-1) with 555 yards rushing and eight total touchdowns, and ranks third with 56 receptions for 429 yards.

Along with Swift and Jefferson, safety Jalen Elliott and linebackers Julian Okwara (ankle) and Josh Woods (neck) are inactive for the Lions.

Boyle completed 15 of 23 passes for 77 yards and two interceptions in a Week 11 loss to the Cleveland Browns, when Goff was out with a strained oblique.

Goff tested positive for COVID on Monday.
