Ryan Knaus explains what kind of fantasy upside Memphis Grizzlies G/F Desmond Bane has, now that he has more opportunities with Dillon Brooks sidelined.

RYAN KNAUS: As a multi-league Desmond Bane manager, I have yet to see a compelling sell high moment this season, and I doubt there will be one.

He's so much better than most fantasy managers predicted, that general expectations have not had time to catch up to the reality of Bain's stellar play. With career numbers across the board, Bane is the Grizzlies third-leading scorer at 17 and 1/2 points per game, and he's shooting an efficient 47% from the field, despite being a high-volume 3-point shooter.

The best part is that there's still upside here. Dillon Brooks recently went down with a sprained ankle, opening up a bigger role for Bane. On a per 36-minute basis without Brooks on the court, he's averaging 2.6 more points with more 3-pointers, and a usage rate that jumps 4.1%.

Even better, Bane leads the Grizzlies in minutes when Brooks is out this season. He's currently averaging a modest 30 minutes per game, a number that should jump in the short term.

There's also potential growth from the free throw line, where Bain simply needs to generate more attempts in order to capitalize on his pristine 90.6% shooting. Put it all together and Bane is a surprise top 50 fantasy player, who may finish the season even higher.
