Deshaun Watson: “I’m focused on clearing my name.”

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson addressed the media on Tuesday, during the team’s minicamp. During his remarks, the quarterback stated that he was was focused on clearing his name, and that he has always been “honest” and “truthful.”

The comments come as the allegations of sexual assault against the quarterback continue to rise. Two additional civil lawsuits were filed against Watson in recent days, bringing the current number of civil suits against him to 24.

Tony Buzbee, the attorney for the Plaintiffs in the civil cases, stated recently that he anticipates adding two more Plaintiffs to the cases against Watson currently pending:

Beyond the additional lawsuits, Watson was also the focus of explosive and harrowing reporting from Jenny Vrentas of the New York Times. Vrentas outlined how Watson met “at least 66 women for massages over a 17-month period.” The article also indicates that the Houston Texans assisted Watson in making appointments, as well as providing him with nondisclosure agreements.

That reporting prompted Buzbee to indicate that the Texans would also be named as Defendants in the ongoing cases in coming days.
