Derek Carr says goodbye to Raiders after 9 seasons

The Raiders have already begun the process of trading Derek Carr and that move should happen over the next few weeks. That was expected after the team benched him in the final two games of the season to avoid his contract being guaranteed.

But now that it’s crystal clear that Carr won’t be with the team, he has officially said his goodbye to the Raiders via Twitter:

Carr had previously mentioned that he didn’t want to play for another team in the NFL if he wasn’t with the Raiders. But in his tweet, he said that he still has the “fire” to play and win a championship.

With so many teams needing quarterback help this offseason, Carr should be in demand. Look for the Raiders to agree to a trade before the February 15 deadline when his contract becomes guaranteed for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
