Reports: Broncos sign former Pro Bowl DE Frank Clark, who starred for rival Chiefs
The Denver Broncos have signed defensive end Frank Clark, according to multiple reports on Thursday. The three-time Pro Bowler won two championships in his four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs and he will now face his former team twice a year with the AFC West rivals.
The Score's Jordan Schultz was among those to report that Clark signed with Sean Payton's team and ESPN's Adam Schefter said the 29-year-old agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $7.5 million.
Clark had 39 tackles and five sacks in the Chiefs' Super Bowl-winning season last year. His highest-performing outings to date were with the Seattle Seahawks, who selected him out of Michigan in the second round of the 2015 NFL draft. In 2016, he had 47 tackles and 10 sacks and in 2018, he racked up 41 tackles and 13 sacks. He joined the NFC West team one year after they beat the Broncos in Super Bowl 48.

He reunites with quarterback Russell Wilson, who came to Denver last offseason in a blockbuster trade. Clark will help boost a pass rush in need of help after the loss of defensive lineman Dre'Mont Jones, who went to the Seahawks this offseason as a free agent. Starting outside linebacker Baron Browning had knee surgery to repair a partially torn meniscus, 9 News reports. He is expected back for training camp. Otherwise, the defense is bolstered by Pro Bowl defensive backs Justin Simmons and Patrick Surtain II.
