DeMarcco Hellams selected in Seventh round by Atlanta Falcons
Former Alabama defensive back DeMarcco Hellams will begin his professional career with the Atlanta Falcons after being selected in the seventh round with pick No. 224 of the 2023 NFL draft.
Hellams, a three-year starter for the Crimson Tide, had his best season in 2022. He accumulated 108 total tackles, seven passes defended, three tackles for loss, one sack and one forced fumble that he also recovered.
Being selected in the seventh round will give Hellams an opportunity to showcase his abilities for the franchise, but will be fighting an uphill battle to make the roster for the upcoming 2023 season.
