Just because seemingly every superstar baller is making his way to California these days doesn’t mean DeMar DeRozan is about that life.
The Raptors star shooting guard may be Los Angeles born and raised, but his allegiances remain in Toronto. DeRozan made it clear to one hopeful fan who threw out a feeble, but admirable attempt to recruit him to his hometown Lakers.

That’s right. If you listen closely, you can hear an emphatic “Hell no!” leave the lips of the four-time All Star in response to the suggestion from below.
DeRozan has been the Raptors’ marquee star for the better part of half a decade. Though he’s a native of Compton, he made it clear that Toronto is his basketball home when he signed a five-year, $130-million deal in 2016 to stay with the only franchise he’s ever known.
Though the 28-year-old has found tons of personal success in the regular season, DeRozan and the Raps have been ousted by King James and the Cavaliers in each of the past three postseasons.
So perhaps joining ‘Bron in LA LA Land wouldn’t be the worst idea.
