Deepika Padukone to be a part of xXx: Return of Xander Cage sequel?

Deepika Padukone might reprise her role as Serena Unger in xXx: Return of Xander Cage sequel.

Deepika Padukone made her Hollywood debut this year opposite Vin Diesel in xXx: Return of Xander Cage. It went on to become one of the highest grossers globally and the dimpled beauty made appearances at several international talk shows, awards and more.

Now as per reports in a leading daily, DP is all set to reprise her role as Serena Unger in the sequel of the film.

Talking about it, a source stated to the daily, “Deepika will, in all probability, be a part of the sequel because her contract reportedly has a clause that says if the box-office business of the film crosses the $170 million mark (which it did and did far more), she will definitely reprise the role of Serena. It also apparently specifies that her role will become meatier and longer in the next outing.”

Earlier this year, the director of the film, DJ Caruso sort of confirmed the news on Twitter when replying to a fan. When asked if the same crew would be in the sequel, Caruso replied saying, “Same cast, same crew.”

Vin had also spoken about the sequel in an interview saying, “Well, it’s funny. I was in the middle of an interview and Brad Grey — who runs Paramount — calls me and says, ‘Will everybody come back to work in May?’ I’m like – everyone’s in interviews right now!”

Currently, Deepika is gearing up for the release of her much-awaited film Padmavati. The magnum opus is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the gorgeous actress will be seen in the titular role. Along with Deepika, the movie also stars Shahid Kapoor in the role of Maha Rawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as the main antagonist Alauddin Khilji. It is set to hit the screens on December 1, 2017. The movie will also be released in 3D format and the trailer for the same was unveiled a couple of days back in the city.
