Deandre Ayton: I haven't spoken to Monty Williams since Game 7 loss

The Phoenix Suns center spoke on Tuesday about his relationship with his head coach following last season's stunning exit from the playoffs.

DEANDRE AYTON: Huh?

- How have you and Monty kind of been able to move on--

DEANDRE AYTON: I haven't spoken to Monty.

- Just-- you haven't spoken to--

DEANDRE AYTON: No, I haven't spoken to him at all, ever, since the game.

- So not even-- not even--

DEANDRE AYTON: No.

- You hoping that changes eventually, soon?

DEANDRE AYTON: I'm here.

- Are you happy that you're here, DA?

DEANDRE AYTON: Yeah, I'm all right. When it's-- when I'm in-between those lines, man, I'm there to work. You know, I'm not playing for myself. You know, I have an organization across my chest. So if you need me [INAUDIBLE] back, I have to work with them. Just here to work.

- If you could talk to him again, what would you even talk to him about? What would you want to show?

DEANDRE AYTON: Huh?

- What would-- if you could talk to Monty, what would you want to talk to him about? What would you want to tell him?

DEANDRE AYTON: I can show him better than I can tell him.

- How do you balance getting the contract extension, but also kind of having that hanging in the air, the-- you know, achieving one goal, but also trying to get past this, or the uncomfortable nature of it?

DEANDRE AYTON: It's life. Nobody really cares about the uncomfortable nature around it. You know, it's how you perform, and what you're going to bring to the table. What was said is already said, so I'm here, man. And the one thing I can't possibly do is-- you know, talking about all these guys--
