Deadline extended for Super Bowl LIX Supplier Diversity Program

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Super Bowl Host Committee has announced that there is still time for businesses to apply for the Super Bowl LIX Supplier Diversity Program.

According to a news release, local diverse businesses now have until April 7 to apply to the program. The deadline was originally set for March 31.

To qualify, the Super Bowl 59 Suppliers website states that businesses must be 51% owned and operated by a minority, a woman, LGBTQ+, a person with disabilities or a veteran.

Applying companies must also have a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Certification.

In March, New Orleans City Councilman Eugene Green said that while not every business will be accepted, it is still a great opportunity.

“There are always going to be challenges in this arena, but people have done business, and, since 1997, which doesn’t seem so long ago. I know some businesses that are still in business, that are doing business in other areas, but they got their start with the Super Bowl,” said Green.
