DC United's Capital Cup opponent Sunday changes originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Due to health and safety protocols, D.C. United's opponent in the Capital Cup Sunday, Alianza FC, is no longer participating in the tournament.

Audi Field announced Saturday that D.C. United will instead play Liga Deportiva Alajuelense in the second leg of a two-leg championship match on Sunday at 5:30 p.m.

D.C. United defeated Liga Deportiva Alajuelense on Wednesday 1-0 to advance in the tournament and will hold a 1-0 aggregate lead entering Sunday's match.

If both teams are level on aggregate score after the second leg on Sunday, the winner will be decided on penalty kicks.

The match kicks off at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday at Audi Field, as head coach Hernán Losada looks for his first trophy managing D.C. United.
