Rutgers added a commitment from the keystone state today in Coatesville High School class of 2018 cornerback Avery Young. The three-star prospect discussed his decision with Scarlet Nation.
“Rutgers looked like a better and better of a fit for me every single time I visited. I really like the atmosphere of this staff and how the team screams unity. They all seem very comfortable with each other and show compassion and enthusiasm in just about everything that they do.”
Young and his brother, Aaron, a class of 2019 running back, who also holds a Rutgers offer, made a recent June trip to campus.
That visit also had an effect on Young’s commitment.
“The Rutgers trip was great, we talked to all of the coaching staff and some commits from my class and some of the 2017 guys who are already there,” Young said. “We hung out with Bo Melton and Raheem Blacksheer and watched the camp that was going on for a little. We also saw some coaches walking around and talked to them, then we toured campus because that was the only thing we didn't see on previous trips.”
Young also talked about the possibility of his younger brother joining him at Rutgers.
“We've been playing together for so long that it's definitely a thought, but we aren't making anything definite just yet.”
