COREY ROBINSON: Lakers star, Anthony Davis, made his return to the court on January 25th. More than a month after he was sidelined by a stress injury in his right foot. Coming off the bench that night, Davis finished the Lakers win over San Antonio with 21 points, 12 rebounds, 1, assist 1 steal, 4 blocks, and one 3 pointer in 26 minutes. He effectively served as Thomas Bryant's backup in a setup that's unlikely to last much longer.
And it's worth noting that Davis was the top ranked player in nine cat formats prior to the foot injury. While the Lakers will certainly exercise caution in working Davis back into the swing of things, his return will massively impact the entire rotation. Lakers GM, Rob Pelinka, may be limited regarding trade assets. But getting Davis back before the February 9th deadline is an important transaction in itself.
