DARYL MOREY: Ben Simmons is a difference maker. I know you right now, you know, there are people who are down on Ben Simmons. And there are good reasons for that, I think. From multiple perspectives both on the floor and off. But the reality is this guy is a multi time all-star. So unless the coaches in the league who voted for him have lost their minds and don't know what it All Star is anymore-- who's one of the most impactful defensive players in the league.

This is a very good player. And to give ourselves the best chance to win the title, you need different makers. You don't need role players. Right now any sort of trade-- which obviously Ben Simmons wants-- the best thing we can do is get roll players. That makes no sense. That will give us no better chance to win the title.

If we were to move Ben Simmons for role players. So people should buckle in. I mean, this is going to go a long time. Because my only job is to help us get the best chance to win the title. Ben Simmons is a difference maker. So if we can get him back, he will help us win the title. If we can trade Ben Simmons for a difference maker, we will do it.

I think that's best for everyone in this situation. I would ask a question to 76ers fans. You would you rather eliminate what people perceive to be a distraction? I don't. Or would you rather have worse playoff odds? Like I think a worse chance to win the title. Like I'm focused on winning the title. I'll go through mud, muck, over barbed wire-- like we all will. Doc Rivers, Joel Embiid, we will go through whatever it takes. Whatever process, whatever pain, whatever hill we have to climb, whatever thing we have to deal with that helps the 76ers win the title. We're going to do it. And what we're doing right now gives us the best chance to win the title. The alternatives do not. You're going to think I'm kidding. I'm not. This can be four years.
