Those two games had something in common. Russell's Warriors and Lillard's Blazers both lost.
According to ESPN Stats and Info, it's just the second time in NBA history that two players have scored at least 50 points and lost on the same night.
Today is the 2nd day in NBA history in which there have been multiple 50-point scorers and both lost. (D'Angelo Russell and Damian Lillard).

It's the first time the NBA has seen two players score at least 50 points on the same night since 2005.
D'Angelo Russell scored 52 PTS while Damian Lillard poured in 60 PTS in tonight's action. This is the first time two players scored 50+ points on the same night since Vince Carter and Allen Iverson on Dec. 23, 2005. pic.twitter.com/IV9IO8Di7S

The Warriors and Blazers met in the Western Conference finals last season, but both teams have fallen on hard times early in the 2019-20 season.
Golden State now sits at 2-7, while Portland is 3-6.
Things aren't going well for their respective teams, but at least D-Lo and Dame are giving their fans something to cheer about.
