Damian Lillard, James Harden show each other love on Twitter over sneakers originally appeared on NBC Sports Northwest

The Portland Trail Blazers and Brooklyn Nets squared off on Tuesday night. In a closely contested battle, the Nets pulled out a four-point victory, 116-112.

In the days leading up to the game, the superstars for each team, James Harden and Damian Lillard, interacted with each other on Twitter. And it was all about the shoes.

It started when Lillard wore a pair of Harden's Adidas sneakers to the Blazers game on Monday night, as captured by Nate Jones.

Evidently, Lillard is a fan of Harden's shoes!

On Tuesday afternoon, Harden must have gotten wind that Lillard had worn his sneakers. Harden reached out to him on Twitter and sent him a message that simply read: "Real one." Here's a look at it via Harden's Twitter.

Lillard clearly appreciated the love that he was getting from his fellow 2021 NBA All-Star. Before the Blazers and Nets squared off on Wednesday, Lillard once again showed up to the game wearing a model of Harden's shoes with Adidas.

It's pretty cool to see that these two elite players are sharing a bond over sneakers. It's also clear that they both respect each other a great deal and know that each is among the top players in today's game.

During the Blazers-Nets contest, Harden and Lillard led their respective teams in scoring. Harden notched 25 points and 17 assists for his shorthanded team while Lillard put up 22 points and also logged nine assists, good for the most on the Trail Blazers.

It must've been the shoes.
