There are trolls on Twitter.
People have burner accounts.
Heck, a lot of the time we don’t even know if a Twitter account is really a person or just some internet bot.
But on Thursday night, the real Damian Lillard stood up.
The Trail Blazers five-time All-Star point guard was alerted by a fake Lillard account on Twitter from a fan.
And now the whole Twitterverse knows it as Lillard pointed out the “imposter” after the fake account tweeted:
"@Lakers Let’s give the people what they want"
That caption was coupled with a photoshopped picture of Lillard wearing a Lakers jersey.
As one would imagine, Twitter blew up. And Lillard continued to engage with fans.
I’ve got a better chance at seeing that than you have at a lot of things player. I can live wit it https://t.co/FLjZwQmE3I— Damian Lillard (@Dame_Lillard) October 16, 2020
The 2013 Rookie of the Year shared some sound advice while he was looking to have a Zen morning Thursday after posting this at 7:30a.m:
In my life I look around me and I know who would give their life for me... and I know who I’d do it for... my decisions are easier when I take that into consideration.— Damian Lillard (@Dame_Lillard) October 15, 2020
Good morning 🧘🏾♂️
It seems fitting, to wrap-up the day now calling out an imposter.
Nice try, @DameInThe4th.
