Dabo Swinney got a wet willy from Christian Wilkins during his postgame interview

It was a big night for Clemson’s Christian Wilkins. He and the rest of the Tigers’ defensive line were brilliant, and helped lead the team to their second national title in three years. It vindicated his decision to play for Clemson one more year before entering the NFL draft. As the clock wound down to victory, Wilkins was in tears on the sidelines, hugging teammates and coaches and taking in the last minutes of his college football career.

By the time the team had taken the stage to accept the trophy, Wilkins was ready to have a good time. As his coach Dabo Swinney was being interviewed on stage, Wilkins saw his chance to have a little fun. Who knows what possessed him to do it, or how it popped into his head. But he did what young kids everywhere only dream of: he gave his coach a wet willy on national television.

If you’ve ever gotten a wet willy, you know it’s pretty gross and distracting. So it’s truly amazing that Swinney barely stumbled after someone stuck a wet finger in his ear, EW. He giggled and then just kept on talking.

Congratulations to Clemson on their championship, to Dabo Swinney for getting through that wet willy with dignity and poise, and to Christian Wilkins for becoming the hero of every mischievous 10-year-old with a wet finger and a dream.
