Thanks to being one of the first Power-5 schools to offer him earlier this year, Iowa State earned a special place in a Florida athlete's mind which resulted in it making a recent list of favorites released by the prospect.

North Fort Myers rising senior Joseph Wilkins Jr. said the Cyclones are in the running because they were one of the first Power-5 schools to get involved earlier this year.

Wilkins Jr.’s list, which he released on his Twitter page, includes I-State, Notre Dame, Louisville, Kentucky, NC State, Arizona, South Carolina, Maryland, Michigan State, UCF, Western Kentucky, Appalachian State, East Carolina and Pittsburgh.

The Class of 2018 recruit said he has heard a lot from ISU assistant coaches Jon Heacock and Tyson Veidt.
