Cumberland native Daniel Diehl wins three medals at ACC championships

Feb. 29—GREENSBORO, N.C. — Cumberland native Daniel Diehl won three medals at the ACC swimming and diving championships, held in Greensboro, North Carolina last week.

Diehl earned a silver medal in the men's 200 meter backstroke with a time of 1:39:50.

Diehl, along with Noah Bowers, Jerry Fox and Arsenio Bustos combined for a silver medal in the men's 800 meter freestyle relay, finishing in 6:10:22.

Diehl earned a bronze medal in the men's 200 meter freestyle with a time of 1:32:72.

The Wolfpack men's team won its third consecutive ACC conference title.

NC State scored 1499.5 points, defeating Notre Dame by 461 points.

The Wolfpack have won the team conference title in nine of the last 10 seasons and 33 overall.

Qualified swimmers will compete in the NCAA Championships held from March 27 to March 30 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
