Cubs' Willson Contreras out of lineup vs. White Sox, day-to-day

Willson Contreras is out of the Cubs' starting lineup Tuesday and considered day-to-day with an undisclosed issue.

Cubs manager David Ross cited "competitive" reasons in not disclosing the issue, but said it is "middle" body.

"Hopefully he'll be available off the bench [Tuesday], so it's nothing serious," Ross said.

Contreras last played in the Cubs' 9-1 loss to the Brewers on Saturday, when he served as the designated hitter and went 2-for-3.

He last caught Friday and went 0-for-3 at the plate.
