Cubs thank Kyle Schwarber in touching video as he joins Nationals
Cubs thank Schwarber as he joins Nationals originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
Soon after the Nationals officially announced they had agreed to terms with Kyle Schwarber on a one-year contact, the Cubs posted a video to thank him.
Filled with career highlights over Schwarber’s six seasons with the Cubs, the video also flashed through Schwarber’s 2016 knee injury and miraculous World Series return.
“Thank you to @kschwarb12 for your kindness, generosity and resilience,” Saturday’s post read.

Schwarber quote-Tweeted the video and responded, “Thank you for the opportunity, all the memories and will always have you guys in my heart! Thank you Chicago!”
The Cubs non-tendered Schwarber last month, but the left fielder told reporters Saturday that he fostered no hard feelings toward the club.
We were teammates since 2014, saw him get drafted and develop himself to good ball player but better person and great teammate. Good luck @kschwarb12

Schwarber’s deal with the Nats includes $7 million in 2021, plus an $11 million mutual option for 2022 or $3 million buyout, according to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale.
