Cubs’ Javy Báez leaves game vs. Giants in seventh inning originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

Cubs shortstop Javy Báez left Sunday's game against the Giants in the seventh inning with right wrist/hand soreness, according to Cubs manager David Ross.

Báez grounded out in the top of the seventh for the final out of the frame. When the Cubs took the field, Sergio Alcántara replaced Báez at shortstop.

"How that ball came off the bat, looked like it jolted him pretty good," Ross said after the Cubs' 4-3 win.

The Cubs will re-evaluate Báez Monday, when they open a three-game series at San Diego.

Báez has battled through several ailments this season, missing time for hamstring tightness in late April and back tightness in early May.
