Cristiano Ronaldo brands five-game ban 'incomprehensible' after authorities reject latest appeal
Cristiano Ronaldo has lashed out at "one more incomprehensible decision" amid reports his five-match ban for shoving a referee was upheld by the Spanish Disciplinary Committee for Sports (TED).
Ronaldo had already seen an appeal to the Spanish football federation (RFEF) rejected as he looks to overturn the sanction he received for his ill-tempered reaction to being sent off in the first leg of the Supercopa de Espana earlier this month.
Having missed the return leg against Barcelona and Real Madrid's La Liga opener at Deportivo La Coruna at the weekend, he is now set to be sidelined for the Valencia, Levante and Real Sociedad matches.
And, following another seemingly unsuccessful appeal, Ronaldo took to Twitter to express his dismay.
He wrote: "One more incomprehensible decision. Injustices that will never bring me down. And as always I will come back stronger. Thank you to those who have supported me."
Ronaldo was found guilty of 'Violation of article 96 of the Disciplinary Code', which relates to using "mild force" against the officials, including grabbing, pushing or shaking.
The incident occurred in the closing stages at the Nou Camp, where Ronaldo had come off the bench to put Real ahead before being given his marching orders after collecting two yellow cards in quick succession.
The second caution was given for an apparent dive in the Barcelona area, and Ronaldo reacted with disbelief before pushing match official Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea in the back.
He was also fined £3,459, with Real fined £1,590.
