The Coyotes finish the current East Coast road trip against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Arizona and Pittsburgh last met on Jan. 12, 2020, with the Penguins winning 4-3 in a shootout. The last time the Coyotes and Penguins met in Pittsburgh was Dec. 6, 2019, a Penguins' 2-0 win. ... D Shayne Gostisbehere has 19 points in 23 career games against the Pens, his highest total against any NHL team. ... The Coyotes are coming off a 7-3 loss to the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Saturday in which they led 3-1 in the second period before the Rangers scored six unanswered goals, and starting goaltender Karel Vejmelka was replaced. F Clayton Keller reached 15 goals in his 40th game, which already surpasses the 14 he scored in 56 games last season. ... The Coyotes franchise is 30-45-3-4 all-time against the Penguins. ... Keller is the Coyotes' All-Star, and F Jake Guentzel and goalie Tristan Jarry will represent Pittsburgh in Las Vegas on Feb. 5. Guentzel leads his team in goals with 21 and points with 40. ... Coyotes F Phil Kessel, a Penguin from 2015 to 2019 after which he was traded to Arizona, is on track to play for the second time at PPG Paints Arena as a visitor since being dealt to the Coyotes.
