Cowboys seemingly out of market for DeAndre Hopkins after trading for Brandon Cooks

The Arizona Cardinals appear to have one fewer potential trade partner to deal wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. The Dallas Cowboys probably are looking to trade for Hopkins after acquiring another receiver.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Cowboys traded for Houston Texans wide receiver Brandin Cooks, sending the Texans a fifth-round draft pick this year and a sixth-round pick next year.

In 13 games last season for the Texans, Cooks caught 57 passes for 699 yards and three touchdowns.

The Cowboys were previously a team mentioned as a potential trade partner to acquire Hopkins.

Cooks will make $18 million in salary in 2023.

The Cardinals want a second-round pick and more for Hopkins, who had more production in nine games than Cooks did in 13. In nine games last season, Hopkins had 64 catches for 717 yards and three scores.

He is due more than $19 million in salary in 2023.

The Cowboys acquired Cooks and the New England Patriots signed JuJu Smith-Schuster.

The potential teams to trade for Hopkins are seemingly dwindling.
