Cowboys QB Dak Prescott suffered right calf strain on game-winning play

The euphoria from the Dallas Cowboys’ fifth straight win is palpable, but it does not come without a cost. On the game-winning play, where quarterback Dak Prescott found CeeDee Lamb cutting across the field wide open for the 35-yard score, the quarterback was injured.

Seen having to be helped into the locker room by running back Ezekiel Elliott, Prescott was clearly favoring his right leg. It turns out that on the play he suffered a right calf strain. He will be further evaluated on Monday.

Prescott finished the game with 445 yards and three touchdowns, with one interception and one lost fumble, both in the end zone. He’s started every game so far this season after missing the final 10 games of 2020 with a compound fracture of his right ankle.

The Cowboys are off next week, getting their midseason bye before they have to take on the 3-3 Minnesota Vikings in Week 8.
