Sunday February 7 is Super Bowl Sunday and while the NHL usually has two or three afternoon games, this year it is seven, barring any postponements in the schedule. The latest a game is slated to start is 3:00 PM ET so it will allow fans to switch over before the start of the Tampa Bay-Kansas City game. It is one of the little idiosyncrasies of the condensed schedule.

The coronavirus continues to take a huge toll on the NHL schedule. It was compacted to start with as most teams were playing 56 games in 114 or 115 games but teams like Florida will now play 54 games in 102 days and they have not had an outbreak on their team. Unfortunately, they play in the same division as Dallas and Carolina, and were scheduled to play both early in the season when the Stars and Hurricanes were forced to postpone their games due to outbreaks.

Note: The two-game series between Vegas and San Jose on Monday and Wednesday, have been postponed.

WEEK OF FEBRUARY 1-7

4 Games – Arizona, Boston, Calgary, Colorado, Minnesota, Montreal, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Vancouver

3 Games – Anaheim, Buffalo, Carolina, Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, Detroit, Florida, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Jersey, New York Islanders, New York Rangers, Ottawa, Philadelphia, Tampa Bay, Washington, Winnipeg

2 Games - Edmonton, Toronto, San Jose, Vegas

St. Louis plays four games at home.

Arizona and Vancouver play four games on the road.

Columbus, Florida, Montreal, the New York Islanders, Tampa Bay and Winnipeg play three games at home.

Boston, Buffalo, Calgary, Carolina, Detroit and Nashville play three games on the road.
