The New Jersey Devils season is on pause.

With the number of Devils players on the NHL's COVID-19 protocol list hitting 10, the league announced that New Jersey's games will be postponed through at least Feb. 6.

The Devils were scheduled to face the Penguins in Pittsburgh on Tuesday and Thursday, and host the Rangers on Saturday. The team training facility has been closed to all players on the active roster until further notice.

"The Devils organization has, and will continue to follow, all recommended guidelines aimed at protecting the health and safety of its Players, staff and community at large as set by the NHL, local, state and national agencies," the NHL said in a statement.

The Devils had 10 players on the COVID protocol list on Monday, with the recent addition of Andreas Johnsson, Janne Kuokkanen, Michael McLeod and Pavel Zacha.

They join Mackenzie Blackwood, Connor Carrick, Aaron Dell, Kyle Palmieri, Sami Vatanen and Travis Zajac.

No other team had more than five players on the COVID protocol list.

Among the other newcomers on the NHL list: New York Rangers forward Kaapo Kakko.

NHL reschedules games

The NHL rescheduled six games Monday to accommodate the earlier postponement of three Vegas Golden Knights games.

Members of the coaching staff and defenseman Alex Pietrangelo were on the COVID-19 protocol list.
