Cougars earn homecoming win

Jan. 12—College Heights girls basketball topped Exeter 64-42 on Friday night during its homecoming game.

The Cougars led 24-8 after the first quarter and never looked back. They outscored the Tigers in each of the first three periods and led 54-28.

Libby Fanning led the way with 24 points and made a 3-pointer. She was 3 for 5 on free throws. Maddy Colin was in double figures with 14 points and Ava Lett joined them with 12 points on four treys.

Sophomore Shea Hilburn led Exeter with 15 points.

College Heights improves to 5-7 on the season, while the Tigers fall to 3-5.

College Heights is coming off a loss to Monett on Thursday night at home. The Cubs won that game 61-43 behind the strength of three players scoring 10 points.

Kilee Wilson, Halle Schoen and Merideth Merriman all registered 10 points for Monett. Fenli Wilson added 9 more.

The Cougars' top scorer was Fanning with 17, and next came Karly Dorris with 7. Both Dorris and Fanning made a 3-point basket.
