Cort Hardy named head basketball coach at Carl Junction High School

Mar. 27—CARL JUNCTION, Mo. — Cort Hardy has been named the Carl Junction High School boys' basketball head coach, and he also will teach physical education at the junior high school.

"I am very excited to be joining the Carl Junction School District, and I look forward to getting started," he said in a statement from the school district. "This is a special place and a special community that my family and I are excited to call home. I cannot wait to share my love and passion for the game of basketball, and I am eager to build Carl Junction basketball into something the community and fans can be proud of."

Since 2022, Hardy has led the boys' basketball program at Seneca High School to back-to-back Class 4 district championships, an undefeated Big 8 West conference championship in 2024, and the school's first 20-win season in 12 years.

He was named Big 8 West and Class 4 District Coach of the Year for 2024 and Class 4 District Coach of the Year in 2023.

Before taking the head coaching position at Seneca, he was an associate head coach at Webb City and assistant coach at Thomas Jefferson Independent Day School and in Neosho.

A graduate of Diamond High School, Hardy earned his associate degree in teaching from Crowder College before going on to Missouri Southern State University to earn his bachelor's degree in physical education in 2020. He also has a master's in Education-Educational Leadership from Northwest Missouri State University.

"I am excited to see where Coach Hardy will take our boys' basketball program," CJ Athletic Director Rich Neria said in a statement. "His experience in growing student-athlete involvement from youth programs to high school will be an asset for Carl Junction. I'm looking forward to working with Coach Hardy."
