Cornerback Ksani Jiles backs off early commitment to Hurricanes

The Hurricanes picked up an extremely early commitment from 2026 cornerback Ksani Jiles in May 2023, but Jiles backed off that commitment on Wednesday.

The Bradenton IMG Academy defensive back announced his decision to decommit from UM on social media.

“I have a lot of love for (the) University of Miami and coaching staff but after talking to my family, I have decided to open up my recruitment,” Jiles wrote. “This was a hard decision to make, and Miami is still one of my top schools, but I feel it’s best to commit my senior year.”

Jiles’ decommitment comes hours after news broke that UM secondary coach Jahmile Addae was leaving Miami to become the Buffalo Bills’ cornerbacks coach.

Jiles holds 18 offers. In addition to Miami, Jiles has offers from Florida, Oklahoma and USC.

The Hurricanes currently have two commits in the 2026 class: American Heritage wide receiver Malachi Toney and Hialeah American linebacker Jordan Campbell.
